Pricing & transparency
What it costs, and what it covers
Both are on this page, in full. Coordinated planning is not worth buying from someone who will not tell you what it costs.
The fee is published. What it covers is itemized. What it does not cover is named. And your own figure is agreed in writing before any work begins, not discovered later.
Most people cannot tell you what their advice costs.
Ask a well-served household what they pay for financial advice and the answer is usually approximate. There is a percentage on the portfolio somewhere. The CPA sends an invoice in April. The attorney billed hourly, two years ago. The insurance was placed by someone whose fee nobody itemized.
None of that is dishonest. It is simply what happens when four professionals are engaged separately and none of them is presenting a single figure. But it makes the one question you would actually want answered: is this worth what it costs?: impossible to answer.
So the price is published, and so is exactly what it covers.
You are paying for the coordination layer.
The fee is not for investment management, tax preparation or document drafting. Those are done by specialists, and they bill you directly at their normal rates.
What the fee buys is the layer above them: the Wealth Strategist who designs one plan that governs everything, the Wealth Orchestrator who manages it day to day, and the accountability for making sure your professionals are working to that plan rather than in parallel.
It is the part nobody is currently being paid to do, which is exactly why it is the part that most often fails.
The investment
What this is usually compared to
Coordinated planning is not new. It has simply been priced for a tier of wealth most successful families never reach. This is what the alternatives cost.
- Traditional single‑family officeUpwards of $1M a year to operateStructurally viable only for families at a scale where a dedicated staff makes sense.
- Multi‑family office$25,000–$150,000 annual minimumTypically requires several million in assets under management before the door opens.
- Standard wealth advisorTypically 80–125 bps of assetsCompetent investment management, with no coordination layer above it.
- A CPA, an attorney and an advisor, separately$15,000–$50,000 a year combinedThe arrangement most households at this level already have, with no coordination between any of them.
Two numbers, and no others from us.
- One-time setupStarting at $5,000
Scales with complexity. A household with several businesses, extensive real estate or layered entities takes more design work than a straightforward one: the fee reflects the work, and nothing else. Your figure is quoted and agreed in writing before any work begins.
- Ongoing service$495 / month
Billed monthly. Covers coordination of the team, quarterly reviews, and keeping the plan current as your circumstances and the tax law change.
The last row is the honest comparison, because it is what most people reading this are already paying. The difference is not the total. It is whether anyone is responsible for making the pieces agree.
What the fee covers
- The Wealth Strategist's design of your plan
- The Wealth Orchestrator's ongoing coordination and day‑to‑day management
- The Wealth Planning Design Team's work on your engagement
- Quarterly reviews and plan updates as circumstances change
- Coordination of every specialist working on your plan
What it does not cover, and what that means
Specialists outside the coordination layer bill you directly at their normal rates: your CPA for tax preparation, an estate attorney for trust drafting, lending professionals for credit work.
Camas does not mark up or rebill any specialist's fee. You pay them what they charge, and you see what that is.
That is deliberate. Bundling a specialist's fee into ours would let us profit from choosing the more expensive one, and would hide the number you would need in order to judge it.
The quote comes before the work, not after it.
A discovery call costs nothing. If there is a fit, you get your setup figure in writing before anything begins.
